Since then the top-hatted ghoul has been hailed as LGBT figure after it was joked on Tumblr that he was gay.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cGay Babadook\u201d was born thanks in part to a viral post\u00a0on Tumblr: \u201cWhenever someone says the Babadook isn\u2019t openly gay it\u2019s like?? Did you even watch the movie???\u201d From this fan theory came a joking back and forth among internet users that supported or argued this theory. Then Netflix broke the door wide open by listing <em>The Babadook<\/em> under the &#8220;LGBT&#8221; category.\u00a0 Coincidence?
